Microsoft Office Word 2007 is the new version of the word processor by Microsoft corporation. The program features many changes and new tools, which make it very attractive and more useful than ever. It offers new picture-editing tools that enable you to insert a picture with just a few clicks and also tweak its brightness, the color mode, and contrast, as well as rotate it, crop it, skew its angle, add 3D effects and shadows to its borders. The most outstanding change is its interface, which includes a completely redesigned toolbar, now known as the Ribbon, with many familiar commands located in new places. Its menu features completely new tabs such as Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, and View, and some other are only shown until you might need them. The new interface presents page view options in a more handy way and also the upper-left corner drops down a menu of staple functions, such as opening, saving, and printing files, which is even more comfortable and useful. Moreover, it also features full-down menus of fonts, color themes, and images that let you preview changes on the page before making them. Another radical change in Word 2007 is its new file format DOCX, which may cause a little trouble when sharing your documents, or open a file with a previous version format.
All in all, Microsoft´s new word processor is most upgrade-worthy if you want to handle pictures, charts, and diagrams in addition to text, but but those who only need basic typing features may not want to relearn the interface or deal with the new file formats.
